NEUROTICALLY ORANGE
2015.
This was one of my first photographic exercises in which I was still studying the basics of photography. However, I decided to go a little furder about what I supposed had to do for class. What I wanted was to give meaning to this practice. So I did. This is not a series itself, rather they are "Microseries"; all within a full practice to which I have named "Neuorotically Orange" The adverb, in effect, refers to a neurosis; one that leads to someone; in this case myself, to take and collect objects with no connection between each other, with the exception of the color they have. What could well be considered a neurotic act, since there is no reason or sense to do so. I opted for the orange because personally, I think is one of the most vibrant colors, especially when it is attached to its complementary color; ie blue.
Earlier I said that this practice consisted of "microseries"; what I meant with this, is that some shots were taken with the same objects and generally with the same conditions, they could well, form small series and be independent and even get away completely from the practice named "Neurotically orange", and then adopt a name that will give them a completely different sense. That's why I entitled each of these "microseries" with a different title, precisely to refer to new ideas with a twist that has nothing to do with the color ...
